The Egglocke is a variant of the Nuzlocke challenge. It follows standard Nuzlocke rules, with one major addition, which is that caught Pokémon are replaced as soon as possible by eggs, containing a Pokémon unknown to the player. These eggs can be randomly generated using a third-party software, but are often sent to the player by friends, viewers, users on forums, or others who are following the run. These eggs are then levelled, using Rare Candies, to the same level as the Pokémon they are replacing.
For example, if a player catches a Level 13 Electrike, they would replace it with an egg that had been generated or sent to them. When the egg hatches into, say, a Pikachu, the Pikachu will immediately be levelled to Level 13 using Rare Candies, and the Electrike can no longer be used. The Nuzlocke then continues as normal until the next encounter.
The Egglocke is a great variant for YouTubers, streamers, and other content creators, as it provides a natural and easy way to involve your viewers in the run and help them feel invested. It can also be very enjoyable for solo players looking for an unpredictable and exciting run, or looking to involve their friends in their adventure.
