The Snaplocke is a variant of the Pokémon Nuzlocke challenge. It follows standard Nuzlocke rules, except that half of the available Pokémon are banned (a reference to the Thanos “snap”).
The concept was first introduced by YouTuber FlygonHG in this video:
The challenge works by banning, either randomly or by some other method, half of the available evolution lines in a game. Streamers will often have their audience vote on which Pokémon to ban, whereas regular Nuzlockers may ask for assistance from forum members or friends to create their ban list.
The Snaplocke is great for creators looking for ways to involve their audience in their runs, or for any Nuzlocker who wants a more challenging and unpredictable experience.
