The Tasklocke variant of the Nuzlocke challenge (or as we prefer to call it, the Chorelocke) uses the standard Nuzlocke rules, with one minor modification to the basic rules: all Pokémon must be nicknamed after tasks that the player needs to do in real-life, such as cleaning, studying, or laundry. Before each major battle (Gym Leader, rival, Team boss, Elite Four, or Champion) the player must complete the chores represented by each Pokémon that is on their team or that has died during the run, or the run is considered failed. This variant does not change the actual gameplay of the Nuzlocke challenge, but is intended to increases the player’s real-life productivity and provide motivation to complete important tasks.
The player’s team may not be identical from one Gym battle to the next, to encourage variety in teambuilding and in tasks completed.
